Mother Orders Moana Birthday Cake for Daughter, Gets Marijuana Cake Instead

Another one for the books of a baking fail – a mother from Milledgeville, Georgia got one heck of a surprise when she picked up her kid’s birthday cake. The mom called her local Dairy Queen requesting a “Moana” cake for her daughter’s birthday. The cake that she ended up bringing home, however, was definitely not Disney-friendly.

Instead of featuring the titular character from the Disney movie, Kensli Davis’ mom left Dairy Queen with a “marijuana” themed cake. Luckily, her mother has a sense of humor, and since Kensli was turning 25, her mother decided to just keep the cake and turn it into a funny memory for the birthday girl.

Kensli posted a photo of the cake on Facebook:

“I haven’t had a chance to tell y’all about our experience this weekend with my birthday cake. So my mama called and ordered me a cake telling them how much I loved Moana. (Because really I do) Well needless to say these people thought she said marijuana,” Kensli wrote.

She did point out that the cake was amazing tasting, despite its questionable outward appearance.

“That ice cream cake was still good though,” she joked on Facebook.

The cake itself was decorated with green icing, as well as a marijuana leaf. The cake also featured a “My Little Pony” pony which appeared to be under the influence, sporting half-open, red eyes.

Davis told WMAZ that she suspects her mother’s thick southern accent can account for the hilarious mix-up.

“I think they thought that she said ‘marijuana’ because we are from south Georgia and kind of have an accent. So, ‘Moana,’ marijuana?” Davis explained. “I guess when they said that I love cartoons, they were just like, ‘Let’s throw a little pony on there.’”

You can hear her version in the video clip from WMAZ news:

The Davis family has been ordering cakes from that particular Dairy Queen for the 10 years, and this is their first incident as such. And that’s why they’ll continue to order cakes from them in the future, although they’ve said they’ll probably skip designs next time and just order a “regular.”

“I just won’t get a design at all,” she joked with WMAZ. “I’ll just get a regular ice cream cake if I have to.”
