We have seen a lot of interesting trends associated with holidays in recent years. That is why it is not surprising that the jack-o’-lantern is the focus of one of those trends. After many years of frightening people on the doorstep, the pumpkin is finally getting a makeover. We would like to introduce you to the newest trend, the pineapple jack-o’-lantern.
It is really an easy thing to add a tropical twist to an ancient Halloween tradition. You just need to add the toothy smile to a pineapple instead of using the pumpkin.

People seem to be on the fence as to whether they enjoy this new trend or not. Some people think that it should be a legitimate pumpkin on the front porch but other people are embracing the new trend with glee.
How to Carve a Pineapple Jack-O’-Lantern
You need a pineapple corer
Do you remember how big of a hassle it is to scoop seeds from a pumpkin? The pineapple is a lot worse. One of the most difficult parts of carving your pineapple will be removing the fruit from the inside. The best thing you can do is to pick up a corer, which you can find online for about $10. It makes removing the flesh on the inside easy but just be careful you don’t cut a hole in the bottom.
Simple Is Better
It is always a better idea to keep things simple. After you have cut out the fruit and put it aside to eat something tasty, outline the eyes and mouth on the outside with a sharpie. Keep the design simple because it is difficult to cut an intricate design into the bumpy shell.
Keep It Sharp
It is best if you use a thin blade and make sure that it is very sharp. Just cut out the pattern you drew on the pineapple and don’t feel too bad if it looks a little rough. Once you put the candle inside it will look much better.
