Some people love optical illusions and other people are just not very impressed by them. Regardless of whether you love them or hate them, however, you have to admit that they are rather fascinating. It is a matter of our eyes tricking our brain or vice versa. After all, we are exposed to so much information through what we see and sometimes, the brain is just not able to keep up with it. If that is the case, you may have an optical illusion where you are ‘seeing’ something that is not actually there.
One of the more interesting optical illusions is known as ‘Kaninchen und Ent’, something that is German for rabbit and duck. You often see this online and there’s a good reason why that is the case. The image is a morph of a rabbit and a duck and if you look at it, it can let you know if you are creative or not.
The image was developed by psychologist Dr. Joseph Jastrow. According to his research, the way that you look at the illustration suggests if you’re able to switch back and forth quickly between seeing the rabbit and the duck. If that is the case, you are highly creative. On the other hand, if you see one or the other immediately, you may not be quite so creative.
