We all like to think that we are doing everything in our power to help others. After all, that is what life is all about. We do unto others as we would like them to do unto us. Rebecca Lynch is someone who most definitely lives by this principle. In fact, she is one of the most selfless people that we have ever seen. She does everything that she can to assist dogs who are in need.
Recently, she was on vacation and elected to use the space in her car to assist a local dog. Rebecca and her husband were making their way through Georgia and wanted to assist a dog from a local high kill shelter. She had been alerted to the shelter’s existence by a friend. Of course, she was going to do everything in her power to change an animal’s life.
Kevin Lynch and I just had a wonderful, memory-making weekend in Savannah with some of our dearest friends. On our way…

“I had space in my car and wanted to help,” she says. Sometimes, it is really that simple. While there are some who will make excuses as to why they cannot help out, Rebecca and her husband are not those people. When they arrived at the shelter, they knew that Lizzy was going to be the dog that they ended up taking home with them. She was pregnant and riddled with medical issues.
If they had not arrived when they did, she and her puppies would have been euthanized before they even had a chance to be born. That’s why this rescue was so important. It went deeper than just Lizzy. Once she had removed the dog from the shelter, she made a bed for the animal in the backseat and sat down next to her. She wanted to make sure that the dog had all the reassurance she needed.
As it turns out, it was the perfect amount. It did not take long before the dog began to give birth on the spot. Rebecca must have done a great job of making her feel comfortable. The family headed off to the vet’s office once Lizzy went into labor. Fortunately, she was able to deliver the rest of the puppies in a safe place. Kudos to Rebecca and her husband for being willing to step up to the plate.
This story may seem like a miracle but in reality, all it takes is the help of one selfless individual to make a major difference. Were you inspired by this story? If so, take a moment to share it with all of your friends and loved ones. Hopefully, this will inspire some more animal lovers to emulate Rebecca and follow in her footsteps.
