Senior Pit Bull Facing Euthanasia Was Running Out Of Time Gets Adopted By Nuns

In a world where there are no shortage of shelter dogs that struggle to find homes, a group of kindly nuns from Nyack, New York decided to step up to the plate. They wanted to find a dog that no one else was willing to take in. Since they had recently laid their old companion to rest, they wanted to find a new best friend to call their own. Before embarking on this search, they established some important criteria.

They were looking for a dog that could never hope to find a home otherwise. When they first found Remy, they knew that he was the perfect dog for them. The older pitbull had been through a great deal of struggle. He simply wanted someone to love him. As a nine year old dog, there were not as many people who would be willing to adopt him. The nuns were all too aware of this fact.

Pitbulls also struggle to find homes because they do not have the best reputation. Many would be adopters do not even consider them because they believe that the dogs will attack them or their loved ones. In reality, nothing could possibly be further from the truth. This is a terrible stereotype that does not have to exist any longer. Pitbulls deserve the same love and care as any other breed of dog.

If Remy had not been claimed when he was, he would have been euthanized. The shelter simply did not have the room to keep him any longer. Luckily for Remy, he had God on his side. These nuns hail from Sisters of Our Lady of Christian Doctrine and they are more than happy to offer him a place to stay. He certainly meets the criteria that they had established.

Hi Tor Animal Care Center workers were beyond thrilled. They knew that the dog was facing an uphill battle to be adopted, thanks to his advanced age and his breed. The nuns did not see an elderly dog who was on their last legs. They saw a dog that simply needed to be loved and cared about. The shelter workers were touched by the immediate connection that the dog enjoyed with the nuns.

We are touched as well. Remy and these nuns are certainly a match made in heaven (see what we did there?) and their connection is heartwarming. If this story hit you in the feels, please be sure to share it with your closest loved ones and all of the animal lovers that you know today.
