There is a new ban coming from Disney targeting smokers. According to the current policy, there are designated smoking areas found throughout the property but that is not going to be the case very long.
A blog post announced the change on the Disney website. May 1 is the date that the new smoking policy will go into effect.
“Also beginning May 1, smoking areas will no longer be present inside Walt Disney World or Disneyland theme parks, water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex or Downtown Disney in California.”
There will still be designated areas at resorts and hotels and smokers or those who vape can still do so at the entrance to the park. There is already a total ban on smoking inside hotel rooms or on hotel balconies.
Another change that coincides with the smoking ban is on stroller sizes. Those who want to take in larger strollers are not going to be permitted to do so. Disney says that the changes are going into effect so that everyone will be able to enjoy their experience more fully in the park.
Disney is not the only place to put smoking bans into effect. They are taking place throughout the country over the known health issues to the public. Los Angeles is a prime example. Recently, they banned smoking, e-cigarettes and marijuana use in or around County facilities. They are also not permitted within 25 feet of a restaurant seating area that is located outdoors.
