Family Wakes Up To A Black Bear Sleeping In Their Closet

This bear might seem like something out of a fairy tale but rest assured, the family in this story was not laughing in the slightest. They went to sleep one night and woke up to a highly unexpected visitor. A black bear had decided to shack up in their home. He needed a place to crash and helped himself to a closet. Luckily, the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks were able to help.

They arrived on the scene and offered the bear a better place to stay. It may have been comfortable in the house but the bear was much better off outdoors. There was less chance of him potentially hurting himself or one of these family members. Even the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office had to chime in about this event. Their Facebook post is a fun read for those who wish to learn more.

The police received a call about a bear trapped inside of a home and they would be forgiven for laughing it off. That sounds like a prank call that some joker would make. However, this story was a real one and the authorities were needed. The family tried to be as hospitable as possible. A home is no place for a black bear, though. The poor fellow had managed to place himself in a tough spot.

In his efforts to find a place to sleep, he had clambered up onto a high shelf. Once he got himself up there, he was unable to get back down. Now that we know he is safe and sound, it is safe to say that this is one of the more adorable things that we have ever seen. Even fearsome black bears place themselves in situations where they need the help of humans.

Would you like to see a video of this bear’s initial reaction? Of course you would. We are impressed by the bear, to be honest. He handled the nap disruption much better than the average person would in this situation. The bear was not too pleased to see the police, though. Their overtures were not received kindly by the black bear and we understand where he’s coming from.

They asked him to leave as politely as possible but all he could do was offer a few yawns in return. If you would like to learn more about this hilarious interaction, we urge you to check out the clip. This black bear is pretty cute, even if you would not want him as a permanent house guest.
