Kitten Rescued From Garbage Bin Looks Unrecognizable

A sanitation worker who resides in Oregon was recently going about his business when something saddening caught his eye. He was emptying a bin when he heard the cries of a small animal that was trapped inside. A kitten had been covered with hardening foam and left to fend for themselves. “He looked like something out of a Halloween horror show,” said Hillsboro Veterinary Clinic’s Diane Healey.

Luckily, the sanitation worker got to the kitten before they had a chance to suffocate. Workers at the Hillsboro Garbage Disposal facility worked tirelessly to remove the animal from the makeshift foam prison. Once the kitten had been removed, it was taken to a local veterinarian’s office for further care. A feral cat is believed to be the kitten’s mother.

This local cat had been known to spend time by the residences where the bin was first discovered. Now, officers from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office are searching for the person responsible for this atrocious behavior. We are glad that they are not going to sit idly by and let this type of behavior take place. It is high time that these offenders were punished.

The kitten is now safe and sound, thankfully. He is going to be able to make a full recovery. One day, he will be ready to reside in a forever home with a family that truly cares about his well being. When that day comes, he will have this kindly sanitation worker to thank for it. If not for his efforts, who knows what might have happened to this poor kitten?

It is a sad state of affairs, isn’t it? We cannot stand to see animals suffering like this, just because of someone else’s atrocious behavior. Kittens like these should not be forced to rely on the kindness of strangers in order to survive but here we are. In the meantime, he is going to be treated by the good folks at the Bonnie Hays Animal Shelter.

This is a story that needs to be shared with a much wider audience. It is time that we came together to put a stop to these types of behaviors. We need to create a world where scofflaws think twice about disposing of animals in this sort of manner. While this kitten is expected to make a full recovery, there are legions of animals out there who are not so lucky. Please share away, everyone.
