Photographer Captures Rare Moment That Only Happens Once In Every 80,000 Childbirths

The birth of a child is a life-changing event that we will always remember. There is something about bringing that new life into the world that makes it an unimaginable gift.

The birth process is always something to remember but they are all going to be different. A birth photographer from Brazil, Jana Brasil feels privileged to be in on many of those special occasions. The delivery of babies in her area is captured in a unique and beautiful way through her photography skills.

Earlier this year, she was photographing a birth and it turned out to be something extremely rare. It is known as an ‘en-caul birth’ and it occurs when the baby is born inside of the amniotic sac. This type of birth occurs approximately one out of every 80,000 childbirth so she was quite fortunate to be on hand.

She captured the moment in pictures and they are amazingly beautiful:

This act may cause the baby to look unusual but don’t be alarmed, there is no danger to the child. When the baby is born inside of the caul, which is also known as a veil, it is easy to remove.

Noah Valasco was born at the Praia da Costa Hospital by C-section. Both the mother and child are happy and healthy.

In many cases during a C-section birth, the scalpel will cut the amniotic sac so that we are even rarer than a natural birth.

Noah’s mother, Monyck is overwhelmed by the worldwide attention the photographs have received.

“People all around the world are reposting the photos and looking for us. I saw him being born. They lowered the screen so I could see. I cried a lot. It’s an emotion that has no size.” she said to the media.

Brasil decided to go full-time with taking photographs of births three years ago. She has a number of awards for the work she accomplished but Noah is always going to be a special award of his own.

We wish the best to the new family.
