Those who own pets are always quick to let us know how much they care about them and we understand where they are coming from. After all, these are not just animals that we are talking about. They are proud members of the family and deserve to be treated as such. For some of us, our pets are the ones who are always able to make us feel better when we are down.

That is why people do not like to refer to their pets as animals. They are people, too. Hannah is an Army private and this clip shows just how human our dogs can be. While some might assume that a dog will forget their human if they are apart for an extended period of time, Buddy is here to prove them wrong. The 13-year-old loves his mother very much.

He is a beautiful Golden Retriever and he’s developed a very close bond with his mother. Unfortunately, she was recently called in for basic training and this made his life more difficult. Hannah is also very close to Buddy because she has spent her entire life with him. She is 21 years old and she has had Buddy ever since she was 8 years old.

When she left for basic training, this is the first time that they had been apart for an extended period. They are all each other has ever known. Basic training is a necessary step that all soldiers must take, though. Hannah would need to be away from Buddy for three months, no matter what. Once Buddy was able to recognize his mother underneath all of that army gear, he got much happier. You can tell how ecstatic he is just by looking at him. His enthusiasm is infectious and we are glad that these two did not have to be apart any longer. Buddy and Hannah deserve this special moment. They are giving each other lots and lots of hugs and making sure that this is truly real.
