A recent video has gone viral that depicts what looks like Dobby the house elf walking down a driveway.
In the video clip, the unidentified creature can be seeing walking down a driveway in Colorado Springs where it takes long and exaggerated steps. The bizarre footage was captured on video outside Vivian Gomez’s home, after which, she unsurprisingly took to Facebook to figure out what that was. She wrote:
“So I woke up Sunday morning and saw this on my camera and am trying to figure out… what the heck?? First I saw the shadow walking from my front door then I saw this thing… has anyone else seen this on their cameras?? The other two cameras didn’t pick it up for some reason.”

Naturally, the video has led to a bunch of people speculating it’s validity and what is happening.
While many people have said it’s Dobby the house elf, even if the magic realm from the Harry Potter series did exist, it’s worth noting that the beloved house elf was killed by Bellatrix while helping Harry escape from the Malfoy Manor.
Other possible explanations that have been put forth have been aliens or a child wearing underwear on their head.
There was further mystery added when a Fortnite gamer noted that there was a “second shadow” in the footage, making many believe that perhaps Dobby was a puppet.
While speaking with Inside Edition, Conor McCourt, a forensic video analyst claimed that he doesn’t believe the video to be a “fake.”
“It could be a lot of things. … Security videos can cause a ghostly effect,” McCourt said, explaining that infrared, which is used to see at night, can be misleading. My real suspicion is that it’s a child […] I’m seeing a highly reflective area in the head, it could be ponytails, it could be something else,” he said.
Now, experts have weighed in on the video, According to the Daily Star, experts have weighed in on the discussion surrounding the video, and have come up with the explanation being a very simple theory: it’s most likely a skinny child wearing underwear on their head.
Gomez does have a young son named Bobby, but she insists that it’s not him, saying to Inside Edition, “I wouldn’t let him out at dark by himself.”
However, she did admit that Bobby “likes to joke around” and “loves to dance”.
