Treehouses are no longer just for children as an amazing adults-only treehouse has recently opened itself up to guests who are seeking a bit of peace and quiet among the trees.
Based a little outside of York, the unique getaway destination features all the creature comforts from a hot tub to a flat screen TV, giving a modern edge to classic Swiss Family Robinson lifestyle.
The Treehouse was opened recently by Wolds Edge Holidays Lodges in Bishop Wilton, which is around 10 miles from York. It was set up by Ruth Rowland.
The treehouse offers a stunning view of the Yorkshire Wolds, along with the comforts of a king-size bed, en-suite shower, plus an open plan living area. an
It comes with a large elevated deck, in order for you to enjoy the scenery from up on high.
Rowland, who founded the holiday lodges company with her family back in 2011, hopes The Treehouse will offer people a tranquil place to escape to when their busy lives get too hectic.
“The idea evolved from a desire to share the beautiful, unspoilt Yorkshire Wolds and surrounding rural area with like-minded people who want to enjoy the outdoors and take time away from their busy lives,” she said.
Rowland added, “Our vision and enthusiasm has enabled us to lovingly transform a small rural field into a national award-winning collection of luxury self-catering accommodation: luxurious lodges, gold star glamping Snug Huts and now the opening of this unique Treehouse. It has been my passion since childhood to build a treehouse and I’m so excited see it completed – a dream come true.”
The Treehouse was built with the help of The European Rural Development Program, which is where Europe invests in rural areas of tourism.
The treehouse only sleeps two people, and the prices start off at £459 for two nights. It is also only available to people over 18, meaning kids are not welcomed.
While The Treehouse has all the modern-day comforts, it’s still a treehouse, so arriving with small bags and flat shoes might make it a little easier to navigate.
